Cat Lovers Lanzarote

Ailurophilia - The most wonderful affliction in the universe

I will be moving from Lanzarote to Tenerife in the near future and will be taking my cats with me and wondered if anyone knows if pet passports are required when traveling between the islands?

Your best bet would be to call the airline you will be travelling with - I don´t think you do need pet passports, but you better check and get it from the horse´s mouth.

Would be good if you could post back here when you find out. :)

I have travelled back and forwards to Madrid with my cats on Air Europa and Iberia and have never needed a pet passport. As long as the cats have their vacinations up to date there is no problem. Its only if you go to another country where you may need them. If the cats are small (under 5 kilos) you can take them in the cabin with you also.

Just thinking after what Carol Montiel said, I took my persian girl Janelle to Germany and back here with me last Christmas, and even to Germany they didn´t ask me once for her passport, nor on the flight back. They only checked whether the cat was paid for, but didn´t ask me for her passport - but that doesn´t mean it wasn´t necessary to have her passport on me, of course....
