Cat Lovers Lanzarote

Ailurophilia - The most wonderful affliction in the universe

I just found the greatest cat I have ever met. He has some "dat" (dog-cat) qualities. He doesn't play with string, but he will play fetch (with a cork). He loves attention, and he smiles. He's got claws, but he doesn't use them to play. He hasn't scratched up the furniture, he is litter-box trained, and doesn't get up on the furniture or counters. Most sociable animal I have ever met.
We found him on Tuesday the 27th of October, and he's been a total doll ever since. My husband is allergic, and we can't keep him. He needs a home because he's such a people-cat. This post breaks my heart, really, because I'd love to keep him, but I can't.

Hi Nicole, one thing you can do is send an email round to everyone on your email list and ask them if anyone wants a cat. If you take a photo and post it with the email (and post a photo here as well!), that usually helps too, so people can see what the cat looks like.

He sounds absolutely adorable and I hope somebody will have him. In the meantime, keep your husband taking those anti-histamines - they usually do help a bit for cat allergies.

Thanks you for a reply. I will take a photo today and send it around. There are a bunch of kids who have very little to do around our house, and the cat has difficulty leaving the safety of our terraza for fear of rambunctious kids.
As for the anti-histamines, we are looking for one that won't knock him out. Even if he takes Cetirizina Mylan at night, he's groggy in the morning.
Thanks again for your suggestions, and you site is a wonderful forum for a wonderful passion.
Sincerely,
Nicole
